The Patel Center for Global Solutions would appreciate your support. Private contributions from individuals like you, enable the Center to address some of the most serious issues facing the developing world. 
Founded in May 2005 through a charitable donation from Drs. Kiran and Pallavi Patel, the Patel Center for Global Solutions is committed to developing interdisciplinary teams of researchers who work together to identify challenges and create viable solutions. Faculty from many colleges are engaged in our efforts. Emphasis is placed on potable water and sanitation, sustainable economic activities, as well as research concerning urbanization and migration issues.
Thanks to charitable donations, the Center has already created a body of research that will contribute to the goal of implementing new knowledge. In addition, the Center provides opportunities for undergraduate students to study with a mentor on campus and complete research projects in developing countries.
UNESCO-IHE
Amount: $30,000

This gift will underwrite the annual costs of implementing the partnership between the USF Patel Center and UNESCO-IHE (Institute for Water Education) in Delft, the Netherlands. UNESCO-IHE is the premier global center for graduate training of future.
Research Fellows
Amount: $20,000
per faculty research per year
This gift will allow the Patel Center to appoint a USF faculty researcher to the Center for purposes of the finding research-based solutions in the following areas addressed in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
Undergraduate Global Research Scholars
Amount: $5000
per undergraduate student
This gift will allow undergraduate students to develop their research skills by focusing on global challenges. Each student will be mentored by a faculty member affiliated with the Patel Center. Students will earn six credits of coursework or independent study on the campus followed by a capstone experience in one of several countries where opportunities exist. Current examples of placement options include Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Panama as well as sites in Africa and India.
