Florida Network for Global Studies
The Patel Center is the USF representative to the Florida Network for Global Studies, along with partners from the University of Central Florida, the University of Florida, Florida International University, Florida A&M University, and the University of North Florida. Established with US Department of Education Title VI funding, the Florida Network for Global Studies (FNGS) is a consortium of Florida universities dedicated to fostering activities that strengthen expertise and interest in transnational and global studies issues. The Patel Center’s roots are in the US Congressionally funded Globalization Research Network (GRN), founded in 2001 and including comparable centers at the University of Hawaii, University of California-Los Angeles and George Washington University. The GRN’s administrative home is now at the Patel Center. Global Studies Network
The four partners of the Globalization Research Network, including the Patel Center, developed the Global Studies Network, which consists of more than 70 similar centers worldwide.
