Faculty Travel Awards
The Patel Center supports USF faculty travel requests that support the Center’s ability to translate research into applications that contribute solutions to problems of global concern. Currently the Center is supporting travel requests, with a maximum request of $1,000, that advance solutions in the following priority areas that are identified in our Strategic Plan: potable water and sanitation; urbanization and migration; sustainable economic activities including trade; and educational capacity building.The Center also will support requests that address health issues related to these priority areas.
Travel funding requests must address at least one of these Center priority areas in order to be considered.The applicant must demonstrate how the travel will contribute to the Center’s commitment to translate research into solutions to its priority areas.
Applicants are limited to one award per calendar year.Note that awardees will be required to submit a brief report summarizing the results of the travel within one month of completing the trip.
Review process
Deadlines for applying are January 11, 2010 and March 26, 2010. Applicants will be notified within one week following the Board meeting where their applications are reviewed.
