UNESCO-IHE 2008

The Patel Center for Global Solutions hosted a group of UNESCO-IHE, Institute for Water Education students for the second year as part of its partnership with UNESCO. The participating students were from the following counties: Ethiopia, Indonesia, Colombia, Thailand, China, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Uganda, and Tanzania.
As part of their two-day visit to the Tampa Bay region, the students visited the Tampa Bay bypass canal, Tampa Bay Water seawater desalination plant, southeastern Hillsborough water reservoir, USF-St. Pete campus and USF College of Marine Science, Florida Fish & Wildlife Reserve Conservation Commission, and the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility.
The group was led by USF Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Patel Fellow, Dr. Daniel Yeh, and UNESCO-IHE Professors, Dr. Ioana Popescu and Dr. Biswa Bhattacharya.
